That cancerous growth which made India slip three places on the Corruption Index in 2010 now threatens to slow down the second-fastest growing economy. The Rajas and Kalmadis and the assorted corporate bigwigs are allegedly out to milk the Indian treasury, disregarding the moral, economic and social costs. What's worse, the government's framing of a toned down Lokpal Bill just shows it will take a lot more Anna Hazare-style movements to bring probity in public life.
